The Golden Harvesters
We have chosen the name 'Golden Harvesters' because it reflects both our current life phase and our mission. To best state that objective, we have adopted Galatians 6:9 as our marching order: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." God has a place of service for each of us for as long as we are alive.
Our goal is to minister to the needs of all senior adults, beginning with those of our own fellowship and extending into the community around us. We want to encourage faithful christian living and to help others to cope with life's transitions.
As a purpose driven ministry we want to provide our seniors with opportunities to make their golden years count for God by developing new relationships, nuturing existing ones, exploring old and new ways of involvement and so contributing to the work of God. In order to accomplish this we conduct special community outreach events, attend senior adult conferences and participate in weekly bible studies designed especially for seniors.
Of course there is plenty of opportunity for recreation. Weekly game times, monthly 'surprise luncheons', fellowship gatherings and out of town travels make for a full calendar for the group.
Come, join us. Work with us. Play with us. Serve with us.
