1) I've never been to First Baptist Denison.  How do I get there?
We are located at 601 W. Woodard Street in Denison, Texas.  Our main auditorium is at the corner of Woodard and Mirick.  Need Directions? If you still need some assistance, call our office at 903-465-4886.

2) Where do I park when I get there?
Our main auditorium is on the northwest corner of Woodard and Mirick.  Visitor parking is available on either street or in the main parking lot located just east of the main auditorium (the northeast corner of Woodard and Mirick).

3) What goes on each Sunday at First Baptist Denison?
Each Sunday morning at 9:45 we have Bible Fellowship Groups(more info).  These small groups are designed around Biblical teaching and discussion of relevant topics in our culture.  Our Bible Fellowship Groups (we call them BFG's) meet all over campus: Adults and Students in 7th -12th grade meet in the McCarthy Building, Senior Adults meet below our auditorium in the Fellowship Hall, and children meet upstairs above the church office.  If you don't know where to go, ask anyone and they'll point you in the right direction. After the BFG's, our main service starts at 11:00 in the main auditorium.  After that, most everyone heads to their favorite restaurant for lunch.  Want to know more about our main worship service?

4) I have small children. Is child care available on Sunday?
We provide childcare for children birth through 3 years of age during our Sunday morning services.  The nursery and children's classrooms are located near the main church office.  On Sunday mornings at 9:45AM we provided classes for children 2 years of age through the 6th grade. During our 11:00AM worship service we provide a separate worship experience for children 4 years of age through the 2nd grade.  We share a bible story, make crafts and play games.

5) What happens in a worship service at First Baptist Denison?
Throughout the service, we will sing several songs.  You can sit or stand, sing or listen, participate as much or as little as you choose.  Don't worry if you don't know the words, it took us all a little while to learn.  After some singing, we will have an offering.  This time simply allows our church members to share with the church financially.  It is a way to thank God for his blessings in our lives.  If you are just visiting, please do not feel like you have to contribute.  All we want from you is your connection card (attached to your bulletin) so we can stay in touch.  The main part of our worship service is a time of practical teaching from the Bible.  Our aim is to present Biblical truth that is relevant in our modern culture.  At the end of the service, we will have a time of invitation.  This just means we are inviting you to come down to the front for prayer, to join our church, or just to get some counsel from a pastor.  You aren't obligated to do anything at this time; we are just giving you an opportunity.  After that, we'll have a few announcments and be finished.

6) What goes on during a typical week?
Several things happen each week at First Baptist Denison.  Each Wednesday evening we have AWANA for children up to 6th grade, fellowship and ministry for students in 7th thru 12th grades, and Bible study for adults.  Our Women's Ministry has ongoing Bible studies on Monday's and Thursday's.  The Men's Ministry meets each Monday night and has small group meetings on Friday mornings.  Our Senior Adults meet for Bible study Tuesday morning and have frequent special events.  This is just a sampling of our usual activities.  If you want to know exactly what is happening this week, check out our church calendar.
