In the Heart of Denison, with a Heart for Texoma
First Baptist Church Denison was established more than a century ago as a place where people can hear and respond to the gospel and to live their lives together in obedience to Jesus. Our church has seen a lot of changes through the
years, and God has been faithful to keep his lamp burning at the corner of Woodard and Mirick through many generations.
We are dedicated to seeing…
God’s Kingdom (His Rule) in Us
From broken rebels to restored sons and daughters of the King
The kingdom of God is not just something that we hope to experience in heaven after we die; God’s kingdom is present wherever we surrender to God, saying, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done” in our own lives. We believe
(and can testify) that God’s power to change lives, heal hurts, and redeem what is broken is available to us today.
We receive this grace through ongoing disciplines: worship, our Bible fellowship groups, and personal devotions, as well as “next step” experiences that increase our knowledge, discipline, and demonstrate love for one another
and the world. Our goal is to teach people to actually do the things that Jesus taught for us to do, to be changed from the inside out.
God’s Kingdom (His Rule) in Denison, Texoma, and the World
Lives made new in Jesus’ name in our neighborhood, region, and wherever God sends us
As believers, wherever we go, we take the Kingdom of God with us. Jesus told his disciples, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you” (John 20:21). He has given us a mission field here in Texoma, and we will be active
in sharing the gospel of forgiveness, redemption, restoration, and power.
We accomplish this goal by being obedient in local outreach and evangelism, including ministry to our neighbors in poverty, through regular evangelistic events, and generous cooperative giving and missions partnerships.
